Fulham fans to walk "back to the Cottage". Back To The Cottage Press Release - 24/04/03 Members and supporters of the Fulham Supporters’ Trust, Back to the Cottage, will be staging a symbolic walk back to Craven Cottage immediately after Saturday’s fixture with local rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Fans will assemble at the junction of Moore Park Road and Fulham Road, outside Stamford Bridge, before moving off at 5.15pm and walking to Craven Cottage via the New Kings’ Road, Fulham High Street, Fulham Palace Road to Stevenage Road. After a photo-opportunity outside of the gates of Craven Cottage, many supporters will go to a barbeque at the Crabtree public house in Rainville Road, traditionally where Fulham fans have met before and after matches at Craven Cottage for many years. Back to the Cottage spokesman Tom Greatrex said: "Saturday’s fixture is the only League match Fulham Football Club will play in Fulham this season. In a typically friendly Fulham way, we want to mark the occasion by walking back home - to Craven Cottage. Stamford Bridge is Chelsea’s home ground, and Craven Cottage should be Fulham’s." "We now know that if Fulham Football Club had the will, it is possible to return to Craven Cottage with a simpler redevelopment proposal with the support of the local authority. We hope that those in positions of authority at the Club will recognise the damage that long-term groundsharing will do to the Club, and submit plans to the the Council to enable Fulham Football Club to return to our historic home at Craven Cottage."
